Insert obligatory out-of-touch Tony Hawk game reference here. Now that we have that uncomfortably awkward reference out of the way, let’s talk about skateboarding games for Android. There are a few really good ones. However, the vast majority are only okay at best or are other game types with a skateboard theme. You really won’t find much on mobile that matches the arcade glory of Tony Hawk or the in-depth precision of the Skate series. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some good games, though. Here are the best skateboarding games for Android!
Epic Skater 2 is one of the newer skateboarding games. It comes after a fairly successful effort from the first title. This one features a bunch of character customizations, a couple dozen career mode levels, an endless mode, 44 tricks, and decent mechanics. It's sports 2.5D game play and some platformer mechanics as well. The game is a step above your typical arcade game with a skateboard theme and it's in-app purchase strategy is lighter than most games. It's no console game, but it's a good time killer.
Halfpipe Hero is another decent skateboard arcade game. The player rides in a halfpipe. You tap the screen to stop the tricks in order to stick the landing. The game also features various challenges, a few different tricks, retro graphics, unlockable heroes, and a decent soundtrack. This is little more than a time killer. Make no mistake about that. Those looking for a deeper experience should keep reading. This is good for quick play and that's about it.
Mike V: Skateboard Party is one of the few skateboard games that approaches console quality. It's not quite there but it's actually kind of close. The game features a career mode with over 30 achievements, a free skate mode, character customization, over three dozen tricks, and decent graphics. It has a few issues, but nothing too major. Otherwise, this is a rock solid skating experience. We definitely recommend this one over most of the other skateboard games.
Shadow Skate is an arcade skateboarding game. It features 2D platformer mechanics with a few skateboard themes thrown in. The game also includes 40 levels across four environments, various things to collect, and various things to unlock. This is basically another time killer with simple mechanics and a simple premise. It certainly won't blow your mind or anything like that. However, it's a solid effort that arcade fans might enjoy.

Skateboard Party 3 is another game that comes close to console quality skateboard games. It features a bunch of skating locations, tons of tricks, and plenty of character customization. You also get a free skate mode, online multiplayer, hardware controller support, and customizable controls. This is very similar to Mike V: Skateboard Party. That's because it's the same developers for both games. In fact, both games are fairly interchangeable. If you like one, you'll probably like the other one too.
Skater Boy is a 2D platformer with a skateboard theme. Each jump performs a trick so nothing special there. It's otherwise a very simple game. You basically just collect various items and make it to the end. It also features 90 levels. This is probably the worst game in our top ten if we're being honest. However, this is also the only game that is entirely free with no in-app purchases. That makes it a decent time killer for those on a budget. There are ads, though, and they can be occasionally annoying.
Skateboard FE3D 2 is an arcade skating game that looks like it could be better. You roll around in a skate park and perform various tricks. However, it doesn't have the smooth execution of some of its competitors. This is probably the second worst game of those in our top ten. However, like Skater Boy, this game is entirely free with no in-app purchases. There are ads, but otherwise it's a fun little game for those on a budget. Those experiencing lag may need to turn down graphics quality in the settings.
Stickman Skate Battle is one of the most popular skateboarding games on mobile. The graphics are surprisingly decent for a stickman game. You battle versus other players in one vs one match ups. You win by performing the best tricks. Some other features include a training mode, daily and weekly tournaments, an offline mode, hardware controller support, Android TV and Nvidia Shield support, and more. It's an arcade time killer and it's a freemium game, but it otherwise hits all of the right buttons.
Touchgrind Skate 2 is very similar to True Skate. You play as a disembodied board. Your fingers act like legs. You move them around to perform tricks. The game features three free roam game modes, tutorial videos, decent controls, three skate parks, and over 100 challenges. This isn't quite console quality. However, this format is among the most popular for mobile skateboarding games. True Skate might be a better game, but it does come down to preferences more than anything.
True Skate is among the most popular skateboard games on mobile. It features several skate parks, decent mechanics, and some realistic stuff like deck wear and using your fingers to gain speed. You also get global leaderboards, various missions, and various customizations. The in-app purchases are a little rough, but they all unlock permanent parts of the game such as skate parks, missions, and street courses. This is definitely in the top two or three best mobile skateboarding games. There are a few bugs here and there, but, well, welcome to games in in the 21st century. They're not that bad.
