With Taiwan’s NCC certification agency already giving us a first look at the Xiaomi Mi Band 4, renders leaked today on Slashleaks give us a clearer look at the upcoming fitness tracker.
The renders seemingly confirm that the upcoming Mi Band is the first in its line to feature a color display. It also looks like the Mi Band 4 features Xiao AI, Xiaomi’s virtual assistant that debuted in April 2018. Similar to Google Assistant, Xiao AI checks the weather, controls smart appliances, performs translations, and more.
Lastly, the physical button on the Mi Band 3 is seemingly replaced by a capacitive button on the fourth iteration.
Based on a previous report, the Mi Band 4 features Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and a heart rate sensor that is likely a photoplethysmography (PPG) monitor. There might also be a second variant that features NFC, though this version might only be available in China.
Unfortunately, there’s not much else we know about the Mi Band 4. Expect the upcoming fitness tracker to look very similar to the Mi Band 3, which you can buy at the link below for around $30 if you want an idea of what to expect. Otherwise, it’s worth waiting a few months to see if Xiaomi announces the Mi Band 4.
